How did you get started?
Music is something that has been a part of my life growing up. I was always that kid in school who would be drumming on the class desk and rapping nonsense. Around the age of 14, I started making beats on my home computer. During this time, I was looking for music to sample from all over the place. I looked through my Dad’s old CD collection and found KRS ONE’s ‘Criminal Minded’. That was the song that made me really want to rap.
Who inspires you?
My inspirations come from all over! My Dad would play different genres of music growing up. Styles such as Hip Hop, Reggae, Garage were on constant rotation in my household. You name it, he played it! Artist wise, my biggest influences I would say would be KRS ONE, 2Pac and Bob Marley.
What are you listening to right now?
At the moment I’ve been listening to a lot more Rap including current releases like J Coles ‘Forest Hills Drive’. I’ve also been listening to Kendrick Lamar’s older material. Other artists I have on rotation are Chance The Rapper and Ab-Soul.
What do you have going on in the near future?
This year is all about pushing my new release ‘Soul Rich’. I spent a good year working with Hot Money Studios to record and perfect the overall sound. It definately turned out better than I expected. I have a few videos lined up along with some features too. Getting exposure for my music is my main priority for 2015, both in the UK and Internationally.
